I am quoting for a contract and need a Tax Clearance Certificate. I am quoting for the work through a register business name that I have had for a number of years but never had any business through the business in those years.

How do I go about getting a TCC for the business name?

    Thanks

    Go to WWW.revenue.ie
Click on tab business and self assessment.
On that page "apply for tax clearance certificate"

Your taxes must be up to date

Click into this link and click on apply for Tax Clearance.

If your taxes are up to date, it will be processed automatically and approved.

If you have any taxes outstanding, it will be automatically refused. At that point you will need to ring your local district and apply for TCC over the phone. They may or may not grant you clearance depending on a few factors.

EDIT: More info on Tax Clearance.
