utorrent app

I downloaded the utorrent android app last night. It is getting some pretty good speeds, up to a bout 425kb/s! I downloaded a film over night and a tv show this morning. But it frequently goes dead and I have to restart the phone to get it working. I suspect that three wouldn't be too happy with downloading of files, but doesn't breech my download limt as I don't have one and they should only slow it down after I get to 15gb, I'm currently less than 2gb. It now won't download at all even after restarting a couple of times, have 2 tv shows partially downloaded but it won't connect to either now.

I have emigrated to scotland and have no internet in my temperory accomodation so would be handy if I could get stable speeds.

Anybody used this on their phone over the phone network? What incoming TCP port did you use? Any idea if phone companies can block torrent traffic and if they do?

    THanks,
    Chris

I have been using this on my HTC One X on O2 and haven't noticed any issues. I only use it the odd time and not exclusively over 3g.

I use aDownloader on my One X on Three Ireland. It works great and I have downloaded a lot on it. Never been slowed down when I went over 15GB either. Is it stated anywhere that they will slow you down should you go over 15GB or is that an arbitary figure?

Yeah I got my downloads complete after, not sure what the issue is! I just gave it an hour and turned the phone off and on again.....Pretty impressed with the speeds I'm getting, and the fact that you can add an RSS feed to keep an eye on your favourite program. I'm up on the third floor in work so reception good here :-)

Do you guys do anything with the port or would that make any difference on a 3G connection. My instinct tells me know but I just was wondering if anybody could confirm?

    I use this site
    http://showrss.karmorra.info/

you create an account here and basically select what tv shows you watch.
It then gives you a personal RSS link.

You then put this link into utorrent or whatever RSS compatible torrent downloader you have.

When I was at home I input this link to my NAS and they were all downloaded over night as they were shown.

When I put it into the utorrent app, it shows up the latest ones under RSS feed and then I can click on them to download.

I think if you put the link into a PC or Laptop it will download them automactically. I find it very handy for american series' as the tend to take mid season breaks etc so you never know when there going to be on! Used to be a pleasent surprise when I came home from work not knowing what shows would be waiting for me to watch!
