    Hi all,

The time has come for me to upgrade my ageing Q6600 and my 775 board for something more modern.

The thing I'm confused about is that there doesn't seem to be a key winner in the mobo markets these days.

The majority of people seem to be going for this: Asrock Z77Extreme4

But do you guys have any better suggestions?

the ASrock Extreme 4 is a good price/performance board... it's gotten great reviews from many places as being the "best bang for your buck" motherboard at the moment..

People are going with Asrock because it's good value for money. If you want something different and are going to overclock then just research all the different Z77 boards. ASUSU (P8Z68-V-Pro) is what I went with and have been very happy.

There's no real leader in the market because it's pretty saturated with competition, so it comes down to who can offer what for how much... good for everyone :)

If you want a really good bang for buck motherboard, Asrock are out in front. If you want specific features like Wifi, you'd need to look at other boards like the Asus p8z77-v.

Really it's a great (but confusing) time to be buying a motherboard, because you've got all the choice in the world. The easiest way to choose is decide what you want from the board (Z77 for overclock potential, WIFI/BT, mPCIe/mSata, SLI/Crossfire, how many hard drives are you going to connect, do you need PCI slots.)
