Holiday in Ireland with kids self catering

Unfortunately I cannot afford a foreign holiday this year so it is Sunny Ireland for me again !!!!

I am looking for some tips of good towns preferably near a beach. We have 3 small kids who will be 4 and a half, 3 and a half and 1 by next Summer. We live in North East area but are not afraid of a long journey we did a week in Kenmare last year and have had several holidays in Cork.

My ideal would be a self catering option linked to a hotel with a pool so if all fails and it's pelting down we can bring kids to pool. Also if town had a monkey maze or Aquarium that would be an added bonus. I would love to be close to a beach too.

I have heard great things about Waterford area and have never been but any other suggestions would be welcome.

    Rosslare in Wexford is marvellous.

Beautiful beach, golf course, plenty of B&Bs, self catering accomodation (houses/apartments & Burrow Caravan Park) & both Kellys Hotel & Cedars Hotel both located in the village centre. Kellys is particularly nice. The village is also not over run by Vegas Style slot machine places or amusements- it is just a lovely holiday resort.

Rosslare is approx 10mins from Wexford Town and is a good base for touring The South East or as a resort in itself.

We have spent many happy Summers down there & while "The Sunny South East" isn't exactly The Costa Del Sol it does have a better chance than most areas of getting some sunshine!!
