Hiya, my friend was travelling in a taxi yesterday when she lost her phone! She didn't realise until last night and had no contacy with the driver. Her mother got an answer from the driver today but unfortunately when they were bout to crosss contact details her phone died. She said the driver was from the northside and has been there for 40 years being previously from Carlow. The route he went was from heuston stopped in portobelo for another passenger and went onto Rathgar. Any idea how we could get in contact with him or actually know him....thanks very much!

    Is that a serious suggestion?!

The 'lost' phone died when the taxi man was about to give contact details. The phone more than likely has a PIN which the taxi man won't know....

Have you tried the Carriage Office?

    What is the Carriage Office?

    Google is your friend.

The Carriage Office no longer deals with lost property. There are 5 designated Garda stations in the Dublin area that manage property that has been found in taxis. The stations are:

    Irishtown: 01 666 9600
    Store Street: 01 666 8000
    Finglas: 01 666 7500
    Tallaght: 01 666 6000
    Shankill: 01 666 5900

Any person wishing to trace property left in a taxi should contact any of the above Garda stations or their local Garda station.

The Garda Carriage Office no longer deals with lost property. Lost property is now handled by local stations. Give it a day or two for the driver to hand it in. The fact that the phone was answered is positive.

Oh yes sorry! Yeah she got all these numbers last night and has been in contact with all of them. Thanks though wasn't sure what the carriage office is!

The suggestion was for the mother to charge her phone so she can phone yer man back
