    Hello Everyone,

Im Looking to get a new set of headphones for my birthday. Primarily for music and a bit of Djing at home, I have a budget of €100. I wanted to go wireless but my friends said that you are compromising sound quality, So im thinking of getting either the Numark REDWAVE or the SKULLCANDY Hesh S6HEDZ-058. What do you suggest from these 2 or are there any other brands that you recommend?

    Suggest you ignore them :p

What kind of music do you listen to? :) Will make a search a bit easier!

    Sennheiser all the way.

Sennheiser 280's if they're still available.

Have a look over at head-fi.org. They do a (very) comprehensive review on just about every headphone out there and it's a great site to learn what to look out for when buying a set of headphones. They have a buying guide here: http://www.head-fi.org/a/2012-head-fi-holiday-gift-guide-over-ear
That summarises the best (in their opinion) of what's out there at the moment.

    Thanks for the link

"From the very first listen it is obvious that the SR60i, like all Grados, is a purpose-built listening device. Build quality, isolation, comfort, and all other considerations simply fade away when the music starts playing. There is just nothing out there for the money that can compare to a Grado for that front-and-center-at-the-Rock-show feeling."

These would be within your budget and are supposed to be good (I haven't used them myself though)
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Koss-Over-DJ100-Stereo-Headphones/dp/B003X1BEKI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358691081&sr=8-1

    These too:

Sennheiser in general make great phones. The 280's have been replaced by the 380's and are supposed to be well worth a look:

A LOT of people over at head-fi recommend the Audio-Technica ATH-M50. I demo'd these last year and was very impressed - they are a bit over your budget but are well worth the cash.

    Good luck selecting!

Glad to help but sorry for your wallet!

The sr60 is a great set of phones for home listening (especially for rock music) but they're open backed so I'm not sure how suitable they'd be for DJing? You might be better looking at closed backed designs (like the Senn's or the Audio-Technica).

Learning to DJ, get the HD205s, you wont go wrong with them. If you decide to really go for it then upgrade to the HD25s(pretty much an industry standard).

ha sorry I wasn't suggesting they would be suited for him, I have Sr80's. I was suggesting the guy reviewing the headphones knows what he's talking about :D

No bother - were some crossed wires from my side too! :) The sr80's are very nice indeed - very tempted into getting these for a long time. That website (head-fi) is great for all your headphones/amp etc. needs. Another good one is http://www.innerfidelity.com/
Tyll there does "proper" analysis of sound from headphones.

OP the advice given by ED_E is very good - starting with the 205 and upgrading later if you get into it. The hd25 are very good phones - they're one of the standard sets used for DJing and you'll notice that most people wearing headphones working on TV use them as well so they're a great all rounder and really durable
