See kennelworth motors have a nice auto insignia diesel with leather .
Sorry don't know how to link but it's blue ,cream leather and auto for €23995 .
Are these any good and would it have xenons .?
Still would do 40 mpg with the auto box ?

Elite has Xenon's as standard, along with heated electric memory seats.

Looks well and seems reasonably priced to me. Shame it doesn't have the Nav that 2012 cars got, and hopefully it has Bluetooth built in.

I have the emissions for a 2011 Elite Auto as 159g (€570 a year to tax) and combined consumption of 6.8 L/100km. That's just over 41mpg, but you'll rarely get close to that in real world driving conditions. Town driving I'd say you'd be lucky to see 30mpg.

Only driven one Insigina Auto, which was a 2009 130ps model and that was pretty good.

....that's the same engine/auto combo as the Saab 9-3, and I'd expect to see about 38mpg out of it.

Even in manual that engine doesn't do VAG economy, roughly 43mpg.

That's appalling efficiency for a diesel, even an auto. What the hell possessed Opel?

Because Opel's own diesel is a complete tractor engine. I know, I have one (2.2 diesel).
Mine's an auto, and regularly returns 38mpg, and over 40 on a trip. But it's a big, heavy car with stone-age tech.

The 1.9 is a vast improvement in power, noise, smoothness - I went from the 1.9 to the 2.2 because of the auto' box tbh.

The Opel version is an evolution of the Saab / Fiat unit. 1991cc in the Opel rather than 1910cc in your old Saab, and a bit more power.

Opel were a bit slower than others to react to the emissions, but are now right near the top. New model Insigina 160ps diesel, with start/stop now has 114g emissions for manual or 149g for the Auto. Looks like they need a more effecient Auto box to get those emissions down to decent levels, but they don't pass the full VRT increase on to upgrade to auto, so price is reasonable.
