    I have a question people want some opinion's.

    say you're in the gym (smallish public gym) in training doing weights leave for 2 mins to go the bathroom an someone just arrive's and changes the radio in the training room to some boring politics show before you come back from the toilet,the question is was I right in changing it back to music when coming back from the toilet? the bloke who had newstalk on took exception to it and thought I was in the wrong but im sorry I couldnt listen to newstalk 106 while training (specially after being in there for an hour previous training before the bloke)..

    Was I right or as one or two people told me im in the wrong what would you do?

    I would wear headphones and listen to my own music.

    You've had an hour of training to the aural wallpaper of your choice. Why can't he have a crack?

    It may be true that you can;t listen to Newstalk while training, but what give you the right to inflict your limitations on him? If you can't train to what others may want to listen to, get an ipod and a set of headphones.

    earphones are your only answer, your earphones, your music, your workout.....
    being at the mercy of some twat to interupt what your actually there to do is not an option!!

    Why do you have the right to change the channel when he is in the gym listening/training.
    But he doesn't have the right to change it when there's nobody else there?

    Personally, if I think what I listen to when training is important then I'd bring headphones.

    As far as I'm concerned, bad music you can't control is an essential part of the gym experience. It provides extra motivation to get your work done quick as possible with no mucking about.

    Nothing like a bit of Bieber to get ya moving - or my worst experience doing a 30min concept 2 session whilst watching MTV music awards but for the 30mins I was there it seemed to be mainly JB singing or getting an award and Selena Gomez saying something - Now this was a very hard session!:D

    It looks like he did not know you were in the gym so changed to what he wanted and then you arrive back and AFAHIConcerned you just changed his station - so I can see his side of it but at the end of the day it's not that important and what gym is this?

    From your perspective;
    You leave
    Someone arrives. They change the station.

    From their perspective;
    They enter gym, no-one is there, so they change the radio to what they listen to. Someone comes in and changes it. The OP is now seen as the rude person, as they're the ones who changed the radio after coming out of the bathroom.

    =-=

    Personally, I listen to my own tunes, as whatever gym I goto generally plays sh|te music. I only have a problem if i can't hear my own music as someone has turned the gym music up too much; so then I turn the music down. As only little people do this, they don't give me any lip when I turn their sh|te down, so it's cool.

    Surely this is decided by whoever is lifting the heaviest weight?

    Might makes right.

    I used to train in a place that only had 2FM on. All Day. Every Day.

    That meant Gerry Ryan reruns on a Saturday Morning. And crappy pop stuff at other times interspersed with copious amounts of advertising.

    Never stopped it from being a great place to train tbh.

    My gym only has about an hour's worth of music on rotation. It must drive the staff insane.

    MP3 and headphones all the way.

    I know its off topic but the thing that annoys me is people who spend the whole time texting or talking on their phone in the gym. Not so much for the fact they are doing it as its their own business, but the ones who sit on a machine and do it. if im resting or taking a break between sets I wont hog the machine as other people may be waiting to use it.

    or two/three/four lads looking at a message/photo/video while at the gym
    what a waste of precious training time!
