Do you ever see darts that's have grooves for better grip near the point?

Is there a certain name for them type of darts, I think they'd really suit my throw, i've been trying to find some online but not sure what to search for.

Your hardly going to be holding the point so its not really gonna help your grip

I know some people sand/roughen their points so they stick in the board a bit better

A lot of people do hold the point, well have at least one finger resting on the point. I'm one of them but I don't have the grooved points. I know other players who do though and they say that they are a great help.

You don't need to buy specific darts with these points, you can get your normal darts repointed with the grooved points.

Scott Rands darts come with the grooves in the points, I just bought a set for a guy. Other wise buy the grooved points and get your darts re-pointed with them. The lazer etched points are more for griping in the board, and they can pull bristles out when being removed.

A lot of people have a finger on the point devastator so its a valid question

I had them on my darts for a while. I found that they damage the board by taking the bristles out when removing them.

Or in my case they tore chunks out of the wall around the dartboard :pac:

Might aswell post this here while people are on the subject. I have went back to an old set of darts recently but the points are very worn and bent. I was wondering where I could get them re pointed? I don't know anyone with the proper tool. I know there is a darts shop in Dublin , but I'm not sure whether they re point darts or not.

I presume, other bike shops would do them? What tool do they use to do it? Might ask in the local bike shop.

Don’t know if other shops do them but that shop sells darts stuff so that is why they do it. No idea what tool they use as they did the darts in the back of the shop
