I was so let down by the Sensation so it will have to be very impressive to make me buy HTC again.

I never looked at that Sensation. I'd say it was the battery life that made you swift away from HTC?

HTC have really gone on a downward trajectory in the android world the last two years. Fair enough, their 2011 range wasn't fantastic, but their 2012 range is decent, and I would still consider them to be the second most reputable android phone manufacturer after Samsung. Maybe they are coming under pressure from Sony now in this respect though.

They supposedly made a real effort in 2012, and in fairness I though some of the handsets were pretty damn good. They did release quite a few phones though, whereas Samsung kept the number of phones in the 2012 range reasonably small. I always find it hard to see how HTC's fortunes have changed so much at a time when android as a whole is thriving. Long term its not a good thing if Samsung is by far and away the leading manufacturer. I hope HTC can keep up the fight this year, and a stomping good flagship is a very good way of doing that, The trickle down effect in android is worth a far greater deal in appeal terms than I would have thought

Thats the biggest thing, yes. Its woeful. If I take off the mains fully charged at 9am there isnt a hope it'll last the day, and thats with doing very little on the phone. I cant rely on it. Plus it didnt take the ICS update well, it regularly crashes. It wipes my music every time I clear down temporary files and is generally very sluggish.

Has battery life improved on the newer models like the One series?

I was always a fan of their designs, their just not great phones. Especially after owning the HD2 every single phone they made came nowhere close to their own benchmark.

Samsung's offering have been a lot better for the past 3 years. I can't even see them competing with Apple. I'd actually pick a Sony phone quicker over a HTC one at this stage even though their new phones on the sheet sound great, the likes of 8X looks great but just disappointing

For me its always been Sense that ruined their phones, the latest version on the One devices is simply unusable in my opinion it's so badly designed. I know you can root and replace and all that but from a simple normal end users point of view who doesn't want to do that it's not a good enough user experience in my opinion.

Although One X and DHD both served me well, On paper what we're seeing of the M7 just doesn't seem like quite enough to keep pace with the competition.

..and if the One X plus has 64GB of storage, why is this thing being touted as having 32?

I think he means why would the supposed new flagship have less storage capacity than its predecessor, step backwards and all that ;)

I've been using a Wildfire S for a while now since I lost my old GS3 and though I know its a low tier phone and I shouldnt have been expecting much of it its still proved to be such a terrible user experience to put me off other HTC products. Even playing with a One X in store it still felt too similar to the Wildfire for my liking.

Keano i went from a sensation which like i found like you battery life crap esp after ics,got a one s in april and it is light years ahead of the sensation.

i was unlucky enough to buy a sensation, and even unluckier to sign up for a 24 month contract.

i still have 10 months to go until im due an upgrade.

i would never buy another HTC again. Its a shocking phone, slow, crap battery life. Ive actually renamed it the "20 second phone", because every app i try to open, takes at least 20 seconds to come on.

once bitten, and twice shy as they say.

the simple fact is HTC do not have the money to compete with Samsung or Apple, they're too small of a company to make anything better than them two powerhouses.

I have had the original hero and the desire s, and my experience with HTC has been great. I'm going to wait for the m7 as there are no.other phones on the market that appeal to me at all... Apart from maybe the nexus 4. I was going to get the one x+ but may as well hold out for a while.

It looks like an impressive phone, but lets see some more reviews before I put my hand into my pocket.
I've been a fan of HTC for the last 3 yrs, but I'm slowly losing faith with them. I had a wildfire and it was my first android phone and loved it, then I got a One S....fantastic phone really love it but its been back for repair 4 times and the service from HTC has left a lot to be desired in my opinion. When my contract is up I'll be looking at Samsung or Apple.
I do find that HTC can lag behind the 2 main players in the phone market and its never quiet there with technology or have a wow factor, as for sense I find it ok but again I have nothing to compare it too. Hopefully its a great phone and give HTC a new lease of life.

Anyone interested in this? Only heard about it today.

I was, but I'm not feeling the curved back and big speaker grills top and bottom.

    Like Zoe though.

I went for an unlocked Xperia Z instead.

Amazon are doing a deal on it till the 8th. Reduced from £550 to £515 and they give you £50 credit to spend with Amazon after the phone is dispatched.

Where would be the cheapest place to pick up one of the new HTCs unlocked. Will probably be due one from an upgrade but would prefer to get an unlocked one from the start, free from bloatware etc.

Got to play with the htc one today. The difference in camera quality between it ands it competitors is unbelievable, leaves them in their wake.
Zoe is fantastic to play with.

However it just does bot feel right in my hands and to the others who were testing it out.
