For late September anywhere is good apart from Ibiza as it will be lively but will not be as good as August early Sep.

If its sun/nightlife/things to do I would suggest Algarve (Portugal), Costa Del Sol (Spain). IMO these have good night life sun and plenty to do. As both are mainland you are not restricted and there is lots of towns/resorts to go out in etc. They will most likely work out to be the cheapest option for holidays as airlines/tour operators provide lots of capacity at least 4 or 5 flights per day from Dublin in summer compared to Spanish islands with lower numbers so it would cost more. Lanzarote would be good to but you will pay a little more.

I was on the Costa Del Sol for a 2 weeks 2 years ago and you would easily get a week for going on tours/trips and exploring the area yourselves.

If I were you I would stay away from chav land ie Majorca-Magalof, Santa Ponsa. More for kids and drunken teens.

    Hope that helps!
