Are level 6's accepted when the requirements are level 5's?

I'm doing a business PLC to get into DCU next year. Studying 11 modules in total, 8 of which are level 5 and 3 of which are level 6. The reason we must do the level 6's is because the college is linked with the local IT and by doing them it gives students the opportunity to go straight into 2nd year of business studies there. Anyway, I need 5 distinctions (level 5) for my course next year and just wanted to know if the distinctions I'll hopefully be getting in the level 6's will count? I rang DCU but the person I was talking to didn't seem to know. Thanks in advance.

Is it Business Studies in DCU you are hoping to progress to ?
Are you completing a new FETAC programme or an old programme ? The award code will tell you this ie is it BBSXX or 5M2102 or similar ?

You need to make sure that the full award you are doing is one of the courses accepted by DCU for entry to their course and that you are also completing the modules that DCU require - once you meet these requirements then the other modules whether at Level 6 or 5 will count towards your points. Details of what they require are listed on the CAO website http://www2.cao.ie/fetac/fetac_search2.php

Be aware that 5 distinctions is the min entry requirement and for popular courses you will need to be getting 8 distinctions.
