I have a TV in my bedroom that i used to use with rabbit ears and it picked up the irish stations perfect, which was fine for me - now I no longer have stations since the switchover.
We have Sky in the apartment - but i was wondering what my options are for getting reception on the tv in bedroom without signing up for Multiroom?
would a saorview box work with the aerial I have - or do I need a new TV?
We dont have an outside aerial on the apartment - so what would i need with a new tv either?

A Saorview STB or TV will work with the indoor aerial provided the Saorview signal is adequate where you locate the aerial. The only way you'll know for sure is to attach a Saorview receiver.

However it is designed for outdoor aerials 10 metres high, and only about 10% can in fact use indoor aerials.

The so called rabbits ears in particular is totally unsuitable as it is a VHF aerial, and saorview uses UHF.

The indoor aerial i actually have is a round circle, and I think it was tuned in on UHF, as thats what it says on the screen now.

Il see if i can get a Saorview box and try it - hopefully it works....

    Thanks

Typically if you could receive TV3 on your old analogue setup then the aerial should receive Saorview no problem.

Have you tried tuning in the Saorview channels with the existing rabbits ears? You will need to choose tv as the source, then aer/aerial and digital (rather than analogue) when scanning.
