Insurance quote/equality change

My insurance is up in a week or 2 and my current insurer sent me a renewal quotation last month. The quotation was sent just before the new equality rules came in. Does this mean that they're now obliged to give me a lower quote?

I'm not particularly happy with the quote I got and want to know if I can use this a tool to bargain them down.

No equalisation just means women can't get cheaper insurance on the basis of their being female.

Have you tried getting other quotes online?

Yeah, have started the process of getting other quotes but none have been able to beat my current insurer thus far.
