My windows experience index average is being let down by my onboard graphics which gives a value of 6.5.
What cards would bring this up to 7.9? The card has to have 2x dvi and 1xhdmi. It would be great if I could use the tv and both monitors at the same time.
The set up I have allows for only two at any one time.
My board {i7,14gbram,ssd} is SLI ready, so a sli capable card would be a bonus.
    Can it be done?

Windows experience is a pile of cock, so I wouldn't be basing any upgrade decisions based on that.

    What's the pc used for?

haha fair enough, I started building this early last year with a view to building a gaming rig. So as the money comes in, upgrades go on. Having said that I don't
actually play any games :D. I'm building it to build it, thats it in a nutshell.

    Ah right, fair enough.

Would I be right in assuming there's a 2600k in it then?

Realistically there's not much point in looking at SLI/Crossfire unless you're talking about super high end gaming, or tacking another card on as a cheaper upgrade route.

If you just want it for using multiple screens, anything should do... (I'll let someone else say which card to go for, I'm not sure about lower end cards tbh)

If you want a very good graphics card, save for another bit and HIS+HD+7850+GDDR5+1024MB+DVI+HDMI+2xMini+DP.article. One of the better graphics cards you can get at the moment. Although, I really can't see the need if you don't use the pc for gaming :P

Also AFAIK, you should be able to use the on board graphics an independent graphics card at the same time, so you could use the onboard DVI/HDMI port to power one screen, and the card for the rest.

    Yep that the one.
7850 you suggested, I've never used mini dvi, I presume it just needs an adaptor?
This reminds me of a quote I heard ages ago.
Q : How fast can you make it go?"
A : How much do you have to spend?
    :D

mini display port is actually what's been used on all macbooks until recently (thunderbolt now). There's plenty of adapters available for that, so don't worry :)

And yeah, that's about right for PCs :D

That quote was in relation to racing motorbikes and chroming the inside of cylinder heads so that there'd be less friction for the piston to glide up and down. :D

Eh.... yeah, that seems a bit extreme :D

WEI doesn't really like you does it. My 6870 is scoring 7.8 right now, so, according to Windows my card has the same amount of performance as a GTX690!

I've been taking a look at this 7850 suggested by challengemaster, and if you look at the icons there is one for 'dual monitor'. Might this mean that it won't do three at the same time?
Also I've reconsidered my price range to €200
Feck it, I knew I'd do this!

You'd be able to run a monitors off all four output ports at the same time no problem.

Cheers, just to be sure, I noticed you talking about an AMD Radeon 7850 in another thread, this is a different one, a HIS. Are we reading from the same hymn sheet?:) Are they both the same card?

Yep I am talking about the HIS, any eyefinity labeled card must be anle to do at least three monitors, with two display ports that one can do all 4 :).

Is it for WEi or gaming? :p

2GB is not strictly nescessary for gaming @1080p currently although who knows in 12 or 18 months. (A couple of years ago the 786MB version of the GTX 460 eventually paid the price for not being a 1GB card, despite being perfectly adequate at launch. It was a similar story for the 512MB HD 4850/4870)

I'd probably get the MSI Twin Frozr 7850 2GB for the same price, as I'd rate it a little bit better that that HIS and just as as good as the best HIS 7850 the IceQ 2GB which is 20 quid more.
