    Hey

I have a friend who is disabled..

and is having quite a hard time with online dating

The disabilty is quite severe. She was born with one leg, and no hands (only arms).. and also shes only about a meter tall

Even with all that , she can drive a car and get around by herself

but I think being disabled gives makes online dating much harder for her (and it already sucks.. I havent tried it for years)

I'm just wondering if theres anything I can do to help her with dating..
or is it something that she has to work out for herself

ps: She lives in UK so she wont read this

hop this is correct forum.. I just have to ask somewhere

Oh and this isn't the correct forum for this, if it's a genuine question! You'll get nothing but smart answers like mine

I wonder why we have a discussion forum when people give answers like this.

I'm in the UK and I'm reading this. Wouldn't have thought being disabled was a handicap in the dating scene. Lots of people are attracted to disabled people. I've got quite a thing for blind men and amputees. If I could find a gorgeous Swedish man with long blond hair, who was blind and had a leg amputated at the knee, that would be my fantasy come true.

Op you would be far better posting something like this in the disability Forum which you can find here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=384
After hours is full of smart asses looking to give the most politically incorrect reply to any question so definitely the wrong place for this!

As for all other people, she'll have to keep at it until one day she finds Mr Right.

AH answer: being able to park anywhere is a big plus. Some guys would find that attractive.

there may be some help you can give but you're not gone to get the answer here! Get out quick, while you can...

I don't believe for a second you just happened upon After Hours on an Irish discussion website while searching for "dating websites for disabled people in the UK", but how and ever anyway, here's the "hard work" done for you-

My own personal opinion if you're actually genuinely serious, is that you let her find her own dates, nobody likes being set up by their friends with somebody their friends think would be "good for them".

I weep for humanity reading some of the replies here

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

The last time I used online dating was about 8 years ago, but to be honest it had improved alot since I first used it.

I would say so long as she is upfront and honest about her condition she will get some interest. Everyone has flaws. The only advice I can give is to use a paid site as opposed to a free one, because that way you get people serious about meeting people and not just people there for the laugh.

I see "The Friendly Irish" are in. I can't believe how people can be so easily rude about disability. Then again, It's just geeky keyboard warriors hiding behind their own vulnerabilities.

On purpose accidents happen all the time. ;) Rehab is a great place to get to know someone too because they can't escape.

You sound like my ma when I was a kid.

Da What did he do now?

Ma: He pulled the legs off his sister's Barbie and (pointedly ignoring me) and what's more, he thinks it hilarious!!!!

    I think they're fairly light0herated and harmless.

Plus I'd be surprised if the OP is genuine.
