Hi I'm looking for a parish where the novus ordo mass is done well - that would include the following:

singing the mass (not singing at mass but singing the ordinary, both the priest parts and the people's, in latin or english in gregorian chant)
    lots of incense
    all the readings
no more emhc's than necessary, and no blessings being given out by them
possibility of kneeling to recieve communion
all the readings read, none skipped
use of acolytes (Adult male altar servers) not temporary altar servers (male of female)
good music - preferably the propers chanted, or at least decent hymnody with organ (not circle of friends type, guitars)
    decent orthodox homily
all parts of the mass said, ie not leaving out the creed or other parts at whim
priest actually using the words given and following the rubrics
preferably no grandstanding, no applause intruding, reverent silence before and after

I know this should be the standard everywhere but I can't find one. btw list above not in order of importance, just things as they occurred to me.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Bonniebede,

I found a link to the Latin Mass Society of Ireland, it might be a good place to start!

Bonniebede, I highly doubt you will find any parish or religious house in Ireland that would tick all (or possible even most) of those boxes. That's a pity. I may be being overly pessimistic - open to correction.

As you know, there is only one Roman Rite - 2 forms (ordinary(Novus Ordo) and extraordinary) but only one rite. So if I was you I'd consider looking at the Latin Mass Society's listings.

I do know that you WILL find a Mass in the ordinary form as you descibe in any of the English Oratorian churches (London, Birmingham, Oxford). They do tick all of your boxes and I can highly recommend hearing Mass in any of their magnificent churches. http://www.oxfordoratory.org.uk/

thanks for the suggestions. I know the latin mass society does things well, but I want to worship in the of not the ef.

If any parish priests ever read this could you please consider how you might achieve this in your parish?
