    Hey guys.

I've had a lot of problems with my health recently, related to food & sleep particularly. I've been terrible at logging my symptoms, and came to the conclusion that a mobile device would be the best way to go about sorting this sloppiness out.

So I got an ipod touch, hoping to use helpful apps and -to digress - to buy the Jawbone UP (https://jawbone.com/up) which, if it works as it should, looks incredible, but only has an app for apple, typically enough.

Anyway, turns out the ipod touch makes me terribly sick, in the same motion sick kind of way that 3d and cinemas in general to, so I'm now stuck with this device I'd bought to improve my health, which is unusable becasue it makes me ill....

Still really want to go with a mobile device of some kind though, and I'm completely lost when it comes to android. Kind of a complicated topic, but I guess I'm looking for a run down on android mobile devices, and also curious to hear from anyone who may have had problems with sickness of this kind. Oh! And anyone who has suggestions for health related apps... Not demanding at all.... :D:D

I'm not speaking from a medical point of view & know little of the apps... But if you are getting motion sickness from the Touch, I would suggest looking at a 10 inch tablet... This would mean you do not have to concentrate as much on the small sized screen and would also mean the screen edges are further apart, hopefully making motion sickness less likely. + if you are unwell, it would offer other uses such as movies and entertainment. There should be a good second hand market for the iPod Touch, so it might be worth putting it on adverts.ie to see if you can get a reasonable price for it.

As for tablets, I would suggest you look into a Nexus 10 or an Asus Transformer T300 or T700 - that is if you chose to go in that direction.

Perhaps take a look at the Samsung Note 2 smartphone. It has a relatively large screen which might help. Plus It's more pocketable than a 10 inch tablet if you need to have it with you all the time. You might even find the stylus feature suits you better too.

If cinema screens are making the Op ill then a 10 inch screen is not much of an improvement.

Hmm, not trying to be funny or anything op, but have you had your eyesight tested lately? Just one more aspect to investigate if screens are making you feel sick.

You're right, that would make sense, but I've had the eyesight tested and that's not it.

In terms of the sickness, I'm ok on computer screens, can stay on them for hours before symptoms come on. I've looked into it a little online - plenty of sufferers but no solutions, and the doctor isn't taking me seriously so I have no idea how to figure this one out. I plan to log my symptoms precisely for a week or two then really push it with the doctor. The small size of the screen could be an issue, never thought of that actually. It's the hi res 3d style display too, which is everywhere on smartphones and pocket devices. You know those features that make the screen *good*.. Well that's bad for me. And inescapable, it seems. Someone might make a lot of money designing an app to optimise settings for people with this condition.

A tablet might be a little big alright, looking for something pocket sized really. And just to be annoying, I don't want a smartphone - I'm clinging on hopelessly to my old button phone technology for as long as they'll let me. Annoyinglly, a smartphone would perfect, apart from the whole phone part.. I guess I'm looking for an alternative to the ipod touch, and it looks like a Samsung Galaxy Player is my only real option. Whaddiya think guys? From what I've seen, The ' 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor' is a little outdated as CPUs go, and 8GB (apparently 6.8 actually available) is pretty stingy, but I guess I can just throw everything on an SD - already feeling relieved about escaping apple. Battery is great, screen's a good size, cameras are alright. Price is good.. Looks like the way to go. Hopefully it won't make me sick. Thankfully I bought the ipod second hand, and should be able to sell it second hand. :)

Here's some info on the Samsung, in case anyone else is interested.
