i put a bit of info on another thread.

www.discoverzakopane.com has a lot of info.

im going again in a few weeks , went last year as a total beginner and it was perfect for that , going again this year to get some more lessons.
its a beautiful place if not a little touristy but plenty to see and do.
food and drink is both good and cheap , £6 for a 3 course meal , £1 a pint.
nightlife is ok , gets quiet around 11pm but a few bars and clubs open late.

as for skiing , i suppose its not a ski resort, rather a town with skiing slopes around it.
but i can get taught how to ski for less than a £10 an hour and passes and hire is cheap.

i suppose for the intermediate/advanced skier it might be limited but for me its perfect and i love the area, really looking forward to our break.

ill try help with any specific questions you have.

I know it fairly well been there a good few times, (don't live far from it)
Nice place to go for a weekend, but the skiing is crap. There's SFA places in Poland with good skiing, old lifts, big queues and now the cops here are even breathalyzing skiers on the slopes!!!

I've heard good things about this place, http://www.zieleniec.pl/
But y'know most hills here are pretty small, I'd go to Austria or Italy if I were you.

I've been- wouldn't recommend it, especially if the people are intermediate or advanced. Jasna just over the border in Slovakia has a much better lift infrastructure and a much greater variety of runs- in fact most Poles bypass Zakopane and head there instead. It's also dirt cheap too.
