    Hi all

Just noticed recently that there is a lot of activity at the moment in the early hours of the morning. Bird chirping etc. I'm not a bird watcher myself but is this the norm at this time of the year. January? What stage are suburban birds at this time of the year? Is this a mating call. Just wondering.

Hi, noticed this myself this week. This evening I dragged my two kids outside to listen to the lovely songs just starting up. I had it in my head that it was feb/march that this started up . Maybe its the mild weather that has started the chorus off early?

Yeah some people have been saying that it is because of the mild weather. That combined with artificial light is what may be the reason. But it's very noticeable at the moment. There has also been a few comments about it in this section. Even saw somebody posting on facebook that birds had been keeping them awake or waking them up early in the morning in the recent weeks.
