CV/Resume Question

I'm currently updating my resume for the first time in a long time. I work in the US so it'll be the resume format as opposed to CV format.

My question is how should I show a promotion within the same job/role?

From 2008 - Present i have been doing the same job. I was a Systems Analyst from 2008 to early 2012 when i was promoted to Senior Systems Analyst, no real change in role.

How do you show this? This is what I'm thinking:
    Blah Blah Inc
    Senior Systems Analyst
    (Systems Analyst 2008 to 2012)
    2008 - Present

    Role:
    • Blah
    • Blah

    Something Inc
    Associate Systems Analyst

    2007-2008

    Role:
    • Blah
    • Blah

Whats the cleanest way to show it?

Also i have 5 years experience since leaving college, how much college info should i give? I was planning on having a 2 page resume.

For a start, I'd check to see if 2 page resumes are the norm for the States - I thought one pagers were the standard.

If there's no real change in role then you'll be duplicating your duties, unless you can split the more senior sounding duties from the less senior sounding ones. If you need to get it down to one page, then you might need to be more concise and list the senior job title and mention the promotion somewhere in the description.

When i look at resume samples online they are a mix of 1 page and 2 page ones, it isn't obvious which is the standard
