Well folks anyone interested in his chances for Gold cup in March?
At 50/1 he could be great E/W value providing he gets a prep run between now and then!

Just a thought - Although the winner will more than likely come from the first 4 in the betting!

    Hello Bud?

    Hi mate!

And Imperial Commander is a 12 year old gold cup winner who has had a serious leg injury and is it fair to ask him to try comeback at this age

To be honest, I'm not qualified to answer that. What I do know is that NTD can be accused of running a horse until nobody else thinks he should be running but he can still win a race with that horse. Ollie Magern was running too long but still won a race worth £13k and collected a total of £33,090 as a 12yo. Hello Bud ran until 14 winning 2 races from 12yo. At 12 (£56,378) and 14 (£61,950). If the horse wants to run, then what are we complaining about?

Remind me why people hate NTD.

Because he runs horses into the ground and hasn't a clue how to train them maybe.

He's sent out a lot of winners for a chap who cannot train. Must have some sort of ability.

Just finished the beef or salmon book, first chapter dedicated to clarifying why he ran Dorans pride at the ripe old age of 14. Personally, I don't like see them racing beyond 12 but having read about Dorans pride, I can see how they turn them out beyond that age on occasion.

Is that ntd on ch 4 right now?!!

    Is it a decent read?

Do you have a link to this?

I have plenty on him at that price and bigger but before he had the setback in November.

Sure look at Pigeon Island, off memory he was running every three weeks for about 2 years.

I thing I don't like about him is the way he treated Paddy Brennan oh and he looks a bit like William Shatner in tweed.

Star date supplimentry, Imperial Commander is going to be cherry ripe if he makes the Gold Cup. :p

I enjoyed it - and its an easy read (7 out for 10 for me). A few typo's / errors, which I would put down to the editor eg Mullins trained Moscow Flyer to win etc. I tried to find the author's email address to notfiy him so they can be corrected for the next edition , no joy, and the publishers website seeems to be down. Gives a good bit of detail around his injury/back trouble and what they had to do to keep him on the go. Nicholls book was also in that christmas present but I'd read it before (8.5 out of 10) & quickly re-wrapped & gave to a relative. Frankel's was also under the tree, just started a few nights ago. Its seems to be weighed down by lots of pictures and seems to be pieced together from a series of RP articles. Its not flowing for me yet but I'm only on chapter 2 - regardless, I've put it down three times already so not a good sign. I think its going to be one for the collection rather than one I'd recommend, if you know what I mean...

This seems like a balanced and well thought out piece of commentary.

'No clue how to train them'?

If a horse is robust enough to run that often then there is no issue. He still cam out and won at the festival a couple of years later.

As for Brennan, I assume you mean how he was left without a job; thats life. NTD has enough rides for 1 jockey and his son was always going to be that jockey. Unfortunate for Brennan but a fact of life. I don't think Brennan is as upset about it as you make yourself out to be. I'd say Brennan saw that coming a mile away.

Oh, and IC will be pulled up in the Gold Cup.

I know there isn't, I was all over him that day. Some day it was too had Barizan Ew 33/1, Imperial Commander 20/1 , Baby Run 9/2, Pause and Clause 14/1 and Pigeon Island 33/1. Hoping for another day or two like that in March :D

Yeah, it was poxy, sure he knew it was coming but NTD could have made an announcement. He was slowly giving him less and less rides as Sam and Willie were getting older.

    Stop it Nulty!!!

Imperial Commander is having a racecourse gallop at Warick today, I can't believe Racing UK mention it but don't show him. They will be talking to Brennan later. If I see footage I will post it and I will post Brennans comments.

NTD said: Delighted, he didn't blow for long after it, he looked gorgeous and he really enjoyed it and we are really looking forward to the Argento at Cheltenham. The plan is Argento, Gold Cup.
