Yep, I'll second that, I've had one since they first sold them in Lidl, so must be 5 or 6 years, it's a good piece of kit. Great value at that price.

But I still wouldn't be sticking my head under any car without using axle stands, no matter what the jack cost.

Luckily I got a set of those in Lidl for €10!:D

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Same here. Got the jack and axle stands in lidl and have them ages. Don't get much use, but handy when I need them.

You peeked my curiosity so I've actually spent a few minutes googleing that, but couldn't find much info, do you have any specifics? There's a mention on a post here but the poster seemed to be using them incorrectly from my reading of it. I'm not saying they've never ever failed, but it's rare that any product is 100% defect free, no mater what the price.

If there was a specific problem I'd have be expecting to have heard about all sorts of court cases and recalls.

Just for anyone who doesn't know, these stands are what we're talking about. Usually come in about every 6 months at a guess.

have one of those axle stands for about 5 or 6 yrs...no trouble at all

Personally, I wouldn't feel safe using those axle stands, but if you're getting away with it and saving a few €€... :P

Halfords do a sturdier pair for thirty quid (or €25.50 with Axa discount).

I don't know about failing, but the car will move(wobble) with them under it, I have a pair of them and thats enough reason for me not to use them.

I use these, also a lot higher, giving you more elbow room.

    The luggage looks decent enough.
I bought one very similar to the one at the rear of the pic (upright - 50x35x20cm) in a Lidl in Spain 5 years ago for 25 euro.
I've used it very regularly since and it's still in perfect condition, it also fits the Ryanair cage at the airport.
The one pictured has a slightly different fabric covering though so would have to take a look to see if the dimensions or construction have changed but it looks pretty much identical.

So did anyone get anything from Lidl for the car. I never got in yet. Maybe later

The bulbs are good, well the +50% ones are. Will pick some of them up later or tomorrow maybe.
    Don't need anything else really.

I was in the lidl car park at three min to 8 this morning. I was the first customer in the shop and came out with a radio and an iPhone holder :D. Put the holder on the windscreen in the car park, It's ok but by no means a quality item(feels very grotty really) but it does the job.

    Charger and wheel storage stand.

    hi

I got the wheel stand this morning, seems good quality and its holding up 4 * 17 alloys ( and tyres) with no issues at the moment.

    happy enough

I got 2 of the chargers, but I can't get either of them to recognise /charge a flat battery. They just go into standby when connected and pressing the mode button does nothing.
Think I will be taking them back...

Those boot storage bags are brilliant.
I have two in the boot of my car for years now and they are
great for storing towrope, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, etc etc

I'm too cheap to get one so a 38a box does me fine :pac:

We have two of them for years and both still work perfectly. However they will not charge a battery if the voltage is under 9v.

Not much good for charging a flat 12v car battery then.

A car battery at 9v is well ****ed anyway I'd say!

If it's 9v under load it's toast. Might just be a bit discharged otherwise.
