    Hello,

I just bought the Marcys weight bench in Elvery's but I find that the stands are to close together so you can't catch the barbell correctly. I am wondering if anyone can give me some advise as what bench I could buy now and probably around the 200 mark, like the one listed below:

(Also I phoned Elverys and they said the fact that I have it set up and used it for one rep they wont accept it back now...I am raging at them as I have purchased many items from them in the past....I would not recomend the Marcy bench to anyone)

http://www.irishsportswarehouse.ie/catalog/weight-benches/ironman-titus-weight-bench?zenid=0a35063d638fa422e09cf5e5965c757e > This is the bench now that I am thinking about buying now but if anyone has other options for me I will gladly listen as i will need to get barbell and dumb-bells etc also (also I am only doing this for a get/stay fit thing as I am tired of going to gym...i dont want to turn into a body builder :)

    Howdi.
Did you buy that bench in the end?
What do you think of it?

I'm actually looking at buying myself now (Ironman Titus weights bench) from Irishsportswarehouse.ie
I love the way the seat/bench and rack are separate, so you can use the bench for other dumbell workouts without the bar rack in the way.

Ring irishlifting com. I got an inclined bench press/barbell/dumbell's and 80kg of weights for €400

Cheers man. You did ok there. You happy with it?
I have weights, bar & bells. Just a new bench needed.
I ordered that Ironman Titan. Only then did I noticed the width of it. It may not take a 5ft barbell. May need to get a 6ft.
I'll check out irishlifting.com for a new bar anyway.

Seems like a good bench. We'll see. Great idea to have the bench separate. Be handy for dumbell free weights.

Well I got my Ironman Titus Weight Bench from www.irishsportswarehouse.ie.
I have to say, you did well not to buy it. It is a piece of SH*T!

The theory and concept is good, if it was well made, but the design by the Chinese, and the quality is just disgraceful.
Everything is loose and wobbly, nothing fits right, the bracket dimesions were way off. Very shoddy indeed.

Construction is dire, and it was designed for at least a 7ft man. The gap between the seat and back rest is a ginormous joke, and the back rest is far too long. Meaning you can't sit on the seat in the down position for a chest bench press. Instructions were one sheet of paper. Just one poorly designed mess of diagram, and that was it. Figuring out how to put it together was a nighmare.

Can you get it sent back

The hassle of putting it together, I couldn't bear to take it apart and try re-package everything again in that mess of a box.
That was another thing that annoyed me. It looked like someone elses return. Box was in bits. I was lucky everything was there TBH.
The delivery guy, cunning they are, got me to sign for it before taking the box out of the van. Rookie mistake on my part.
And I just know I'll get hassle sending it back in that state. Think I'll just live with it.
I'll give it a few goes first, and then decide what to do. Disgraceful that I can't sit on the seat when bench pressing.
In the up position, it's fine, as the seat moves up with the back rest, but as a bench press, it's terrible.
I'd never buy anything off them again.

I have a body image elite bench. Totally bulletproof, amazing but expensive

I can safely and truely say here and now - don't anyone buy anything from Irish Sports Warehouse.

Doesn't look like I can return this bench. I'd have to pay insured signed-for delivery to their warehouse, which would literally cost me a fortune to courrier seeing the weight and size of the thing. I can't even deliver in person.
And only if they deem it an acceptable return in good order do they refund you MINUS their delivery and insurance charge. Free delivery to Ireland my hole! Not when you have to return something it's not! So I'd end up lsing half the cost of the bench just to return it.
Terrible terrible service. They don't even reply to email.

And because I signed for the item before checking the package, I have no come-back at all. I should have never taken it in.
You just can't trust them delivery men. Trickery was done on that day! Shower of .....

Its a cheap argos type bench.

If you want heavy duty commercial equipment it is a lot more expensive but will last you for life.
