Your post is a bit confusing in the middle. If she doesn't want feathers, willies, etc I wouldn't bother getting sashes, she obviously doesn't like that stuff. Just because she doesn't want that means it has to be a low key hen. My friend's hen recently was brilliant, we went for lunch and cocktails in a city, then did a bit of shopping, then made cocktails back in the apartment we'd rented and had decorated with some subtle decorations. After that we went out for the night, drinks, chats, dancing, great night with none of the awful embarrassing tack that normally goes with cringeworthy hen parties.

I know someone who had her hens on Causey Farm. The group fed animals, baked bread, went bog jumping, then had a few drinks later on. Sounded more like an interesting fun girly break than a hen party!

The idea of the typical hen (with ANY hen related paraphenalia) makes me so uncomfortable too. If your sister hates it, then I would recommend avoiding it all (even the sashes). Treat it like a decent night out when planning it, not a hen.

if she is telling you she wants something in particular then why are you deciding its not exciting enough and organising something totally different? Especially if she is someone who has expressed and interest in cocktails, shopping, dinner and dancing then she doesn't sound like someone who wants to go to a farm and bake bread???
why not do what she actually wants you to do?

180 euro is a hell of alot of money to be expected to pay, to go to a hen.
Do you think people will agree to that?

And I would assume drinks are an extra cost on top of that, and possibly transport to the farm. Over €200 would definitely stop me from going if I am honest.

    Hi there,

We had a hen at Teapot Lane (http://www.glampingireland.ie/)

The yurts are so comfy and warm as there's a little stove in each. We also had the main cottage which was great for drinks and games with the whole gang. We went into Bundoran for the day for a walkabout and lunch (Mullaghmore is just as good) - there's an option for surfing here or other activities with http://www.turfnsurf.ie/

Teapot Lane do a great BBQ followed by songs around the campfire.... unfortunately for us it rained all night so we had songs by the fire in the cottage instead! (just a note; the singer was organised by Teapot Lane, she was v. good but didn't have 'sing-a-long' type songs for our group)

Teapot lane is a great location for a hen, only downside is they require booking for 2 nights minimum which doesn't work for a lot of people as 2 nights can be quite exhausting.

Hey Mollin Sox, booked mine recently, Blackwater farm in wexford works out around 40euro per person including transfers & lunch, an got the maldron in wexford for 35 per night so altogether €110 for 2 nights and the activity, the farm agreed to let us bring our own champers as well.
