I bought this today as i was on the lookout for a decent 3d Bluray Player, and this fits the bill. Ive just tried the netflix and BBC iplayer App and in my view they are very good. Blu Ray playback is top notch.

It seems to me to be the cheapest price around for this player as its £80 on Amazon and more elsewhere.

How does the iplayer app work outside UK?

I use Overplay DNS for €4 per month. Lets you use Hulu, BBC iPlayer, US Netflix and all that other good stuff.

Probably a free one around that lets you do the same.

yeah great player and think you can still send off for Titanic and Avator 3D versions as well think I paid 140 for it back in October so decent reduction Blu-Ray start up is fast and Netflix works well.

Is it possible to browse the internet through this, or only use the player apps and social networks? Thanks

Can you actually alter the DNS on the BR player itself?

That's what I do on my Freesat box .

Oddly enough, I cancelled my DNS subscription months ago but it still works.

As do I on the PS3.

I wouldn't do it on my PC though so was wondering if it manual set was possible for this player.

    Like this one? http://www.currys.ie/Product/SAMSUNG...r/312981/145.1

What's the difference between them (apart from €20!)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

I bought one of these today. Haven't set it up yet.

It's DVD region 2 ONLY, anyone got a unlock/hack for it to make it multiregion?

If not allowed link here perhaps you can PM me?

It's a good price, very good, but as region 2 only it's annoying, though in fairmess I bought it with the hope I could find a hack for it.

Didn't get any offers to send off for the free 3d movies (unless there is something in the box) but I think correctly it finished on Dec 31st anyway.

What's DID's policy on returns if I decide not to keep it if I can't get a hack, I bought it on the basis I'd find something on the web to make it region 0 but can't find owt !:o

No 3D to start with. Not sure about the limits of the internet features on the Samsung.

Sorry, my mistake. The Panasonic DMP-BD77EB-K is €69.99 in Currys. Just wondering what the difference is between the two Panasonics?

Does anyone know if a decent webcam will work for skype on this? It seems the "Official" ones are a tad pricey!

And is yours the same Panasonic one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,478 ✭✭✭✭Snake Plisken

Yes it is I wanted a Panasonic to match my TV also wanted it multiregion for Blu-ray (don't watch DVD's anymore) so there is a guy doing a modified firmware but the application has to be word for word spot on as he uses bot's to go through the application form, if you get it wrong you get banned from applying again for a month from your email. Check under blu-ray players on avforums they have a subforum for multiregion fixes!

Any chance of a link by pm or here? Have checked out the A/V forums website but cannot find where you mean for this exact blu ray player. TIA

Looks good, but I have a Sony TV and am looking for a matching bluray, to minimise the number of remote controls!
Anyone know a good Sony one with 3D/Wifi?

Has to be a panasonic dongle, seem to be around the €50 on ebay, only other option would be to run an ethernet cable to a wireless adaptor

Not sure about that. I got one of these for my Panasonic G20. It does the job perfectly.

    Free postage too.

Hey Vic yeah you could buy homeplugs or else something like this http://www.ebuyer.com/407276-netgear-n900-video-and-gaming-4-port-wifi-adapter-wnce4004-100uks

if you go the homeplugs router you can stick a cheap switch on it and network in your tv, xbox or ps3 with to it as well.

Yeah If I where you I'd get the homeplugs I bought some from Argos TPLink these ones http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9093087/Trail/searchtext%3ETP+LINK.htmwith the plug pass through so not to lose the socket but if you've plenty of sockets then the non-pass through ones are cheaper http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9126284/Trail/searchtext%3ETP+LINK.htm

As Long as the wiring in your house is fairly modern they should work fine
