I bought a new kettle today and it boils about 30 seconds faster than my old one. Have you been pleased by your purchases of new technology and would you like to share that with us?

I was very disappointed when I ordered what I thought was a state of the art flashlight. Who knew that changing the "a" to "e" could make such a difference.

I bought a food processor recently, it has all these attachments for grating, slicing etc. and there is a blender/juicer thingy as well. It made me realise that anything can be fun if you have gadgets, I love it!

Erm, Bulgaria are actually progressing faster than us

when UPC had 50mb broadband they had 128kb DSL

UPC do 150MB now.... Bulgaria do 300MB to the home in some areas and can match 150 in really rural areas...and its cheap as hell

    Just 1 example

That the thingie that has hard skin flaking off your foot from its roller?
Does it gather all those skin shavings?
Have you put them on the dinner table instead of shaved parmesan cheese and noticed if anyone knew?

    p.s. MacGyver is on Netflix

I just noticed that, watched an episode (the one where he is in the casino and takes off the girls dress using a paper clip and a big of red string).

Then I come on and read this thread, unbelievable!

P.S. Did anyone ever try to boil milk in a kettle? I bet McGyver did.

I don't think any piece of household technology has ever made me think it was amazing... Oh except my vacuum cleaner is one of those Cat and Dog Miele ones, it's unreal, practically takes the carpet up. I don't even own a pet, but I shed hair like one :o

And actually on that note, the GHD is probably the best piece of equipment in my house. It has succeeded where many other inferior straightners have failed.

We bought a snazzy red Morphy Richards kettle a month ago and I love it, it does boil a lot faster than our old one, then again they all do at first. We also bought a Zanussi Jetsystem washing machine last summer, when our old Zanussi gave up the ghost after about 14 years. I love that it has a led display showing me how long the wash will take etc, little things for little minds:o

One does occasionally partake of the hobnob if proferred on appropriate ware by an appropriately attired servant with the requisite amount of deference.
