    At the moment I am comtemplating buying a TT bike. At the moment the only miles would be club league and stage races.

    The bike I am looking at is below:

    http://jedi-sports.de/Bikes-Custom-Made/Triathlon/TT/Track/Cervelo-P3-Shimano-Ultegra-2013::4650.html

    My questions:

    1) The bike has a compact chainset? Surely a double would be more appropriate?
    2) Sizing: Im 5'10 and ride a 56 specialized tarmac. I was riding with a 5'10 cervelo road bike owner and he riders a 51 road bike. Are cervelo sized smaller?

    Any users own the P3 or have any comments about sizing buying online?

    Hi Arthur,
    Are you aware you don't get the wheels in the pic? If I had your budget I'd save myself a grand and buy this http://eurocycles.com/ie/product/felt/da4. Availible in a 54cm size which would suit your height. Enough money then left over to buy a decent set of deep section wheels!

    Of course if you really want a Cervelo, I won't stop you.:)

    edit, ah feck, the Felt is out of stock, sorry.:(

    Thanks Velo. I have areo wheels so not interested in the wheels and Jedi will drop the wheels and replace the FSA with 53/39 ultegra. My concern is sizing and buying online.

    I like the cervelo but open to alternatives at better price?

    That's a lot of € for something that won't see a lot of miles. Have you look on advert.ie etc for a second hand bike? I say that as someone with a TT bike hanging in the shed.

    On the gearing - a 50/11 has a higer gear inch than a 53/12, im building a tt bbike which currently has a compact, which I think will be ok. I think the biggest gear I used in previous tts on the road bike was about 53/14.

    This looks good if you'd buy a second hand bike?
