Hi all, my group (consisting of Irish, English, French, and Brazilian nationalities) are looking at flights from Dublin to South America. We have found a good priced flight which will stop for a connecting flight in New York.

My question is, even though we will touch down in New York for 3 hours (and won't leave the airport), will we still need some sort of USA Visa to pass through immigration and/or to catch our connecting flight?

Different nationalities will have different requirements. Irish, English and French will most likely qualify to use te ESTA/Visa waiver program, for visa free travel if they meet the requirements.

Brazilians, if I recall correctly, need a full-on visa to enter the US which will involve applying, embassy interview etc.
