    Hi All,

Sorry if this is the wrong section for this question.

I am getting Sky in once the broadband is up and running as my local cable provider has removed a lot of channels that my kids watch,

What I want to know is all my rooms are fitted with TV points fed from the attic, so currently all my tv boxes just plug into them and I have my channels.

Once I get Sky in can i unplug my cable providers feed in and plug the Satellite cable directly into it so I will not have to run cables through my ceilings, and just plug my sky box into the Tv Points as I will probably have a mixture of Sky Multiroom and Freesat boxes

You'll be able to use the points yes, but they need some modification. Either buy buying new f connector type face plates (not the push in coax type) or simply removing the middle of the faceplate to leave just a hole and then pass the cable through that way. Obviously the cable that feeds those points will have to be connected to your dish and disconnected from the current splitter or distribution amp.
you'll need to get an independent installer in for that work, I doubt sky themselves will do it.

Each point needs an independent feed from the dish, or from a multiswitch which takes 4 feeds from a Quattro lnb on the dish.
Satellite cables cannot be split .
Sky + boxes need two cables to work properly . This is hiw they can record two channels at once etc. they are effectively two boxes in one.
What the previous poster said about outlet plates applies, but also cable quality is important . The cable in the walls may not be suitable for satellite.
Best thing to do is call in an independent satellite specialist for an assessment .
www.isaa.tv would be a good place to find one. The average sky installer would be of little help.

Sorry my problem is the exact opposite My sister has Sky+ for 3 months trial but would prefer not to renew it as she doesn't make much use of recording etc. Would be happy with the basic english channels She has a new 32"flat screen tv bought in January. Now I say that she can cancel sky when her 3 months are up (forgot to mention she did have sky before and they got back to her and offered her the 3 month trial) If she takes out the card and unplug the tv and plugs it in again after 5 minutes everything should be ok ??? Only thing I am worried about is the two cables going into the back of the box One for recording and one for tv Should she disconnect one or does it matter ??? She had an aerial so she can use this for saorview
