This looks great. I always wanted to see Chinatown on the big screen. Can anyone recommend any of the lesser known ones that could be worth a watch?

It's a real shame they're not showing Macbeth.

Mostly proper digital prints and some 35MM unless I'm mistaken.

Im a big fan...as well as "Chinatown"(i actually saw that for the first time on the big screen in Canada ten years ago, great experience, really old cinema too, balconies and all that jazz *swoons*)

Anway....."Rosemarys Baby" is essential, great film,"The Tenant" is very good too,Polanski actually stars in that one,not very well known despite being mid 70s when he would have been fairly high profile,i loved it,"Repulsion" is well worth a look too,as well as having Catherine Denueve(sp?) in it its classic Polanski, very bleak,"The Pianist" is a fine movie too......as is "Tess"!....eh maybe see them all?......i saw "Tess" a few years back but all i remember is Natasha Kinski is in it(reason enough to go:o)and that i liked it...not sure if that helps!

I think if you enjoy "Chinatown" youll like the others, his style is pretty much the anti-Hollywood,especially his early movies, hes not afraid to not give the audience what they want,i love that about him but God knows it isnt for everyone......enjoy whatever you go to and let us know what you thought!

    Is The Pianist playing.
God - that was gruelling on big screen. Really worth catching again .
    Grim story & true .

I watched The Pianist for the first time the other night. One of the best films I've ever seen. I was holding back the tears for most of it. It would be incredible on the big screen, especially one particular shot of Warsaw in ruins. And the closing scene will have everyone will sitting silently until the credits have finished rolling.

I'd love to see Rosemary's Baby and Knife on the Water.
