Using Kero mixed with Diesel

Was just in ordering heating oil just outside Mullingar.

A chap in a Mondeo Diesel was re-fuelling then switched pumps and continued to fill up. Thought nothing of it until I seen both pumps.

One was Kerosene at €1.00 per litre and Diesel at €1.56 per litre.

Now apart from the illegal side and possibly messing up your engine do you really saving money??

Save a few quid only to replace an engine and possibly more!!

Cobblers. If it wasn't for kerosene, half of the northwest would be walking. I personally, ahem, know of one yoke, bought brand new and run on kero and a shot of veg oil exclusively(a fill of kero and a litre of veg oil) that is still running perfectly, and it's 12 years old at this stage. It didn't(allegedly) see any diesel for the first 5 years. Kero was 48c,diesel €1, so do the maths. Massive, and I mean massive, mileage clocked up as well. It's reprehensible though, and obviously totally illegal. Yes. Hmm.

I think in older Serb engines prior to DPFs etc then it wouldn't do any harm but in modern engines it messes up sensors and clogs filters and causes damage.

Yes older engine are fine but your new diesel jaguar or range rover wont fair to well... although the dealer would love to see you coming back :D

The old diesels will run on anything, even Vegetable Oil.

    Tried and tested on a 1983 Merc 300D :D

No lubrication in kero, false economy. Any savings made will be lost in a new lift pump, diesel pump or injectors

I am running my skoda octavia 01 on a mix off both diesel and kero. I fill 20euro of white diesel (1.50 a litre) and 30of kero at 76cent. So my saving is 21euro a fill up and a fill last a week..
But this is northern kero. White in colour. And with the mix off white diesel for lubrication off the injections and da fuel pump my car has bein flying and clocked up nearly 30000miles since last year. And also i have bein stopped and dipped by custom.s. I was ****in it as i pulled up. They dipped my tank at 3/4 full and it came up into da bottle and it cleared da dip test..
