Sim Free Phones

Anybody know where I can get a simfree phone? I have a 48months sim and can't be bothered going through the hassle of unlocking my current phone, it's not worth it.

Thought they sold simf-free phones in Tescos but was in there today and they didn't have any. Apart from the dodgy shops on Henry street, anybody know where I can go?

IMO you cannot beat amazon.co.uk, or.de, or .fr, or .es. All have very good value. The European amazons may have different delivery charges than .co.uk, which has free delivery to Ireland if you spend £25.00.

Amazon will usually beat their prices. Amazon.de are very competitive.

I tried ordering a sim free phone from Expansys recently. Worst online shopping experience of my life - avoid like the plague is my advice! The ordering and paying was fine until it came to dealing with their knuckle-dragging delivery and "customer service" departments. Absolutely dismal.

Then tried finding out from Carephone Warehouse if they sell them. Woeful website gave no help despite being told to go there for the information and calling them resulted in the agent repeating the same useless paragraph over and over about different networks!

In the end, I went to Amazon.co.uk and it was smooth as silk. Should have gone there from the start but hope my horrible experience can save people like yourself from the same misery! ;-)

Xtravision, Power City, Harvey Normans all sell Sim free phones from about €19.

Another vote for Amazon.de. Easy to order and generally quick to despatch. Prices are, 'just right' too.

One downside being: Phone charger will more than likely be supplied with a double prong\pins. You'll need a shaver adapter to use it in an Irish wall socket.

Ah the budget is only around €50. I'm not bothered about having the latest technology, I'll only lose the phone haha. Haven't looked at amazon yet as I have a usable phone I can get unlocked. Might have a browse anyway and see if there's any good deals.

EDIT: I'm on amazon.co.uk and I'm extremely tempted by the great prices!

From my experience - yes - much cheaper. To the tune of roughly €100 euro cheaper if you take a sim free samsung galaxy s3 for example (comparing amazon.co.uk price versus powercity price).

I'd always prefer to buy locally if possible but the price difference on many goods - especially gadgets - is just bananas in alot of Irish shops.

TBH I'd never checked top end phones. Its usually the cheap and cheerful one's I'm looking at.
