Does this look like an okay bike for the cost. It would be used for spins of up to 15 miles. I already have a raod bike and was thinking of getting one of these aswell. Don't qualify for the BTW until next year when my 5 years are up

It looks like decent enough spec from a quick glance. Raleigh are a pretty crappy brand name who have developed a (in my opinion well earned) reputation for poor quality control however in the last few years I think they've been trying to aim more at the middle of the market rather than the lower end and from what I've heard quality has gone up so I wouldn't say definitely steer clear, but give it a good look over.

I have a long established antipathy for hybrids/flat bar road bikes so I'm not too sure what alternatives you'd be best looking at. I think the Lapierre shaper might be in a similar price bracket, you could also look at the boardmans in halfords. Both are quality manufacturers.

Thanks for the replay Tony. Would this bike be better do you reckon then the Raleigh to justify the difference in price
