US Airways 767 Question

    Hi,

I will be flying US Airways to Philadelphia soon and the aircraft is scheduled to be a 767. What are the Economy class facilities like?

I take it that the TV screens drop form the ceiling?

Are their any sockets to allow for the charging of laptops an iPod's?

Is it any better than the 757's that were on the route?

    Thanks in advance.

    Neil

Basic. Overhead screens and no in-seat power.

hopefully the above will put you in the picture a little better. Basic yes but the 767 is prefarable to the 757 as it's a widebody vs narrowbody so there will be the sense of greater space in the cabin and less of a claustrophobic and cramped feel you can get on the 75s over longer journeys. Otherwise yes, basic and quite antiquated by modern standards.

Thanks for the comments. I thought as much. US Airways seem to have updates the Airbus fleet but not their aging Boeing fleet.

    Thanks again.

US are very much a no frills operation so set your expectations accordingly. Not hellish by any means and perfectly functional for getting across the pond, bring your own entertainment if at all possible, music, movies etc.

I did this route in November. The planes are very basic, shared TVs but by no means uncomfortable.

Plenty of leg room and the food was decent. It's not really that long of a flight, so the entertainment didnt bother me as i had my ipad for games, books etc. I will add that we flew just after sandy and the staff in philly from us airways were amazingly helpful.
