My GF began taking the pill around 2 months ago. From what i'm aware it takes at least a few months for the pill to work? Anyway we had unprotected sex a few times over the last 3-4 weeks while she was still taking the pill silly I know but shes is on her week break from the pill since Sunday and is due her period this week and has to take the pill again from Sunday again and still no sign of a period? She took a pregnancy test today and nothing appeared she says if she doesn't get her period by Saturday alarm bells will begin to ring.

I probably explained this arse ways but anyway obviously its hard to tell but what are the chances shes pregnant? I'm going out of my mind with worry

OP, talk to a pharmacist or go with your gf to her doctor to get clarification. How did she not ask these questions when getting the pill? Seems a bit crazy that she wouldn't ask for this info.

I'd say the panic is delaying her period. I stop taking mine on a Tuesday and sometimes only get my period the Sunday morn. Used to it now but freaked me out at first

It might depend on what pill she's on, but to the best of my knowledge you're protected against pregnancy from the first day of taking the pill (assuming you start it on the correct day, which depends on her natural cycle, and assuming she's been taking it proper since she started and no vomiting/diahorrea/antibiotics). She should've gotten instructions or a small booklet with it that answers these basic questions. Failing that, talk to a pharmacist for some free professional advice.

The few months you/she is thinking of might be to do with how much time it takes for your body to adjust to the pill? ie regulate periods etc (nothing to do with protecting against pregnancy). I know when I started taking it I was a good 5 days into my pill-free week before I got my 'period' and even now my body is adjusted and it takes 3-4 days. so I wouldn't panic just yet. See if she has the leaflet/booklet or else talk to a pharmacist to calm your fears.

She began her pill-free week on Sunday so tomorrow will be the 5th day? If nothing happens should we be getting worried?

She has also been vomiting over the past while and feeling sick after eating sometimes ?

OP - you have strayed into the area of seeking medical advice here. As a result we are closing your thread with the suggestion that your GF really needs to get a doctor to check her out instead of relying on internet diagnoses. Vomiting could be caused by a range of things, not just pregnancy and irrespective if going on for more than a short while a doctor or a medical center needs to be your first port of call.
