Want to import car to caribbean

Hi all,

I want to import a Used Mitsubishi Evolution FQ300 SST or FQ330 SST from the UK into the Caribbean.
I wanted to know if anyone can help me with the procedure and/or a reasonable used car dealership I can import the car from.


Flying into the UK is not an option for me.

I need RHD, which i can get from Japan or UK

I searched Japan for FQ version and did not find any. I think they are only sold in the UK. Someone can correct me if i'm wrong.

Presumably he has someone trusted who has inspected it. There are few in that business of looking over cars and the like overseas, and bringing them over.

Mar4ix ... the type from the first link. I prefer the fq series. which is not available on that site.

if you look at the link above, you can see under the evolution X section, the uk models have the fq series which is what I want.

I've seen a couple around in my country. I don't know any of the people who owns them so I can't ask them for help.

I've heard of a lot of people importing cars from the UK without seeing them in person. Only pictures.

Yikes, wouldnt buy a car without having someone you trust having a look at it .... you could end up with a writeoff.

Where in the Caribbean are you importing to? Bear in mind Customs duty may well be in excess of 40%, unless you can find someone returning and swerve the tax that way...

SR9800, welcome to the motors section of boards.ie, home to countless wafflers, armchair experts and dreamers. You'll receive poor guidance, misinformation and possibly some of the worst advice you'll read in here.....

I'd suggest a search in the UK (we're an Irish forum, Ireland's not in the UK by the way) for a Performance Mitsi specialist who can supply an inspected car and liase with an export agent on your behalf to get a suitable car shipped over to you. Folks in the USA, Africa and all over the world regularly purchase Landrovers the same way with no issues.

Best starting point will be UK based marque specific forums from which you can shortlist a few reputable UK-side specialists.
