I got 4 mud flaps fitted and my front reg plate put back on with different screw holes .

I was charged €55 , he said €3 to do the reg plate and Looking on the site the mud flaps are €7.63 for a pair .

It was in a motor factory place as i was given a voucher.

Seems in the right ballpark, if slightly expensive (if I was a regular of the mechanic).

    I wouldn't worry about it.

    How long did he take?

Some mudflaps are a b1tch to fit, so if it took an hour+, its ok.

oh, and +1, mud flaps? They are only needed if you do any off-roading

    thanks for all the replies

i left it with them around half twelve , said it would be ready around three with lunch included . Never rang , went over after three and it was outside ready .

I got mudflaps because im sick of the muck on the back window and to use the voucher , it was that or seat beads thing .

Mud on the back window is caused by the poor aerodynamics of a car where the dirty water that a car in front throws into the air is blow over/around your car and then this water is sucked onto the back window of your car (called the venturi effect).

It is more pronounced the more vertical the back window is (just look at the back of some vans!).

You should have got the beads! :)

good decision, putting seat beads on to deflect mud simply would'nt work. :pac:

Ah stop , I didn’t get the beads because id be short of getting a Christy Moore or Irish CD for the full taxi effect ;)

Ah sure they are on now and I have an idea i wasn't badly overcharged. Handing out €550 for new brake disc/pads and 4 tires tomorrow , now that will hurt :(

I'm a fan of mudflats, must be the only one

Had them on most of my cars but it does depend on the type. I've only ever had the oem moulded type on them.
