Hi guys, just ordered fog lamps with the plastic bezel for my 2006 facelift Avensis. I know I need a switch/dongle to turn the lights on..
My question is does anybody know if there is a loom pre installed on the T2 English spec?? I will be looking eventually but would like to know so I could sort it out before I get the lamps!! Cheers in advance!!!

If the cables are there in the bumper and there is a dedicated fuse in the fuse box (but empty) and the electrical contacts for the fuse are there for the fog lights, you could be very lucky, but its not guaranteed!

Not sure about T25, but older ones were wired for front fogs.

Find out if any wires are hidden behind a bumper, usually wound with a bit of insulation tape and tie wrapped.

If they're there, you'll need a switch (in older ones light stalk to be replaced) and fog relay.

    No additional fuse AFAIR.

Used to be the case that there would be only one wiring loom, and the extras were fitted to higher spec cars. Doesn't make sense to have different looms for different specs.
My T22 avensis didn't have foglights factory fitted. But it did have the wiring in place. So all I needed was a relay and light stalk.

The relay was a PITA to fit (it's way up over the pedals behind lots of other wiring etc). Stalk was easy enough, but the steering wheel had to come off (observe airbag safety rules if your doing this).
The foglighht wiring itself was taped up behind the headlights, so fitting the light units was a 5min job.
Even the telltale light on the dash was there.

    Either way, these will help

    Avensis prewired

    Non prewired
