Hi guys thinking off moving to chapolizod this month can anyone tell me how long it takes to get to ballymount and do you have to pay the toll. If you don't have to pay the toll is there much of a time difference . I live close to ballymount at the moment so don't want to move to chapolizod if its going to take long in the morn

no toll, it's the length of walkinstown avenue + a bit of kylemore road which you could do it in less than 5 minutes if there was no traffic. traffic can build up at mcdonalds so i'd probably allow 20ish mins at 8 am

The toll is after the exit for Liffey Valley/Chapelizod. If I were you I'd take the M50 from the Ballymount exit to the N4 exit.

It might be worth going outside to the m50, given there's no toll for the journey, rather than taking kylemore road and the magic roundabout at walkinstown. The slow down on the m50 in the morning is around the n4 junction. You'll be merging there so should clear traffic quite quickly.

It's an extra 3.5km though, so you may want to try and get an accurate picture on the costs w.r.t petrol etc. For me, I'd take the unbroken drive of m50, but you'd need to be checking traffic reports on LiveDrive in the morning. You'd feel a right idiot if you went out to the m50 and got stuck there when you'd only 6km to go the other way.
