Hi all, I'm a full time carer for my partner, we got a letter from eircom today stating from the 1st of feb my telephone allowance will go from €22:58 to €9:50 a month, as we've to budget everything down to the last cent every month this is gonna knock the home phone on the head which my partner needs as mobile buttons to small, we've the electricity to be hit yet and the household charge to come( or mortgage is €600 a month which is killing us but don't want to lose our credit rating), have gone to cwo and she said she can't help, is there anybody who could give us some good advise, we're sitting here looking at the four walls totally depressed ....

Sorry now, what do you mean bundle them together, won't that increase the price of the bill if adding the Internet to it!!

Yes my dad was getting the cash payment (for mobile phone and esb) of €62.40 a month. The first payment he got for 2013 was for €44.50. Quite a drop, he just rang Eircom and they put him a a longer contract bundle but knocked €6 off the monthly price. Try to haggle by signing up to a longer contract if that suits.

Ditch Eircom and get the best bundle you can afford from any of the other providers. They are all cheaper than Eircom. Also note that Sky are entering the Irish market in the next month or so and they will not be beaten on price. Have a look at the Broadband forum for news on that.
