    Hi All,
i've got sky in my apartment and i'm having issues accessing the channel4/more4/e4 set of channels.
Often it'll appear that the channel isn't possible to access, that there is no signal.
All the other channels appear fine.
Is there anything i can try before ringing sky?.

    Thanks,
    MiCr0

(the setup we have is regular sky+ with 2 feeds from the roof, connecting into an old white sky+ box)

Use the frequencies on the sticky here.. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055520627

Sometimes Channel 4 block some programmes over copyright issues.

Other than that,,it could be an alignment,,cable,,or connector issue.

Does anyone else in any of the other apartments have the same issue?

The encrypted "Irish" channel 4 services are prone to interference from DECT phones.

The interference is to the intermediate frequency (IF) output by the lnb & will usually be picked up on cables or connections.

Does it actually say there is no signal? Ch4 sometimes do not have the rights for Ireland so you cannot watch them on an Irish subscription.

its for normal TV like big bang theory and regular scheduled content.
i'll have a look @ the DECT issue, and have a chat to the other people in the block - thanks

If you have decent cables with properly fitted and tightened F plugs and wall plate (if fitted) properly screened you should not have DECT interference problems. Check all these items carefully.

The dect issue is a long standing problem, anything from a portable handset to a router can cause interference.Even if it's nothing in your apartment,it could be in the adjoining one.Move anything that might cause interference as far away as possible from the Skybox & ask your neighbours nicely if they have a dect phone or router at the other side of the wall adjacent to your skybox.

That's because people have had poor installations long standing. If the items I highlighted are OK there won't be problems. I can put my router and DECT phone on top of my satellite box and get no problems.

Channel 4 don't seem to have the rights to the earlier series of the Big Bang theory here anymore so you will get a blue screen during it warning that it isn't available in your area when it is on
