Flatscreen Television as Second Monitor.

I'm looking to buy a Flatscreen TV (32-42") that will function well as a second monitor. I'm guessing that the Hz rate has to be appropriate. What are the appropriate frequencies for LCD/LED/Plasma. Are there any other factors I need to take into consideration?(obviously I will be going for Full HD)
