I have an old system in my house here. No central heating, if I want hot water I have to turn a Emerson switch on to sink or bath, in the hot press up stairs.

Basically do I need hot water in the tank for a hot wash in machine. Or does your washing machine heat water itself?

    Thanks Guys

Your washing machine will need to be connected to the cold water mains, & will have its own heater inside it, if buying new look for an A rated model, it will be the most efficent / economical on water and electricity.
