I think he posted this to show the massive price difference between amazon sites.

Might be an eye opener of a bargain alert.

Have only ever used or checked amazon .co.uk and .com

Is it simply a case of ordering from these sites (if you can translate the procedure) or might you be hit for additional charges?

I have only ever ordered from .com, .co.uk and .de but have never had a problem ordering off them.

I went through to the final checkout with the projector and it was charging an extra €10.07 shipping, .es doesn't seem to offer a free shipping option (or at least didn't on this product).

Ordering from .com you are liable for additional customs charges as it is shipped from outside the EU but you will have no additional customs charges if you order from .de, .es, .fr. .it or .co.uk

You can use camelcamelcamel.com to track prices of a particular product on individual amazon sites and set up email alerts for price drops, would be good if they compared prices on all EU Amazon sites instantly, is there any price comparison site that does that?

That link is to a third party marketplace seller.

    Amazon.co.uk price is £511.63 (about €630)

Try keepa.com... Found it yesterday and it's excellent - better than camelcamelcamel, which I had been using before. You can install an add-on into Firefox or Chrome also, which lets you track price trend and also price in other amazon sites directly in the browser on the amazon site.

Amazon.ca (Canada) can be very cheap sometimes, with Duty included. Also, they're more likely (For the time being anyway) to post Tablets/Phones/Cameras then amazon.com.
American law has some ban on posting anything with a lithium battery. I can't remember the exact law or if it's by choice with their postal services, but Canada doesn't seem to.
Handy if you're looking for something in particular.

Thanks for the post OP, even though I am not keen the item posted, it lead to finding out about keepa, and look what I found - the great value 1080p, 3D capable BenQ W1070 for €682 at Amazon.de (it's £681 at Amazon.co.uk). If only I can convince the other half that this is a good idea...

What do you mean when you say 3D capable? If you have a 3D movie, would you be able to watch it using this projector from a wall?

I've been looking at that projector so thanks a lot for posting your find. :)

In general yes, but it's not that simple either. You need a 3D source (Sky or PS3 or other 3D capable player), glasses of course, and a lot of other factors like the size of the room, ambient light, and the color and texture of the wall / screens to get accurate color reproduction etc etc.

These reviews / discussions may help

Some projectors can output 3D with add on boxes which I think is the case here, I don't think it does 3D as standard (although I stand to be corrected)

Still, it's a cracking projector... Full 1080p, up to 6000hr lamp life and gets very good reviews across the board, for home use it's leagues ahead of the Canon in the op

Not sure how accurate it is? I looked for a couple of books, and the numbers were the same across sites, with the current changing.

    For example £17.56, $17.56, €17.56, Y17.56 etc

Thanks for the replies. Seems like too much hassle for something I'd rarely watch anyawy :) Still very happy with my in focus projector I bought a few years ago.
