    Hi Guys,

Just hoping that I can get some insite on caravan parks in Vendee. We went to Landudec in Brittany last year for two weeks in June. The park its self was brilliant. there was an indoor and out door pool mini golf football etc etc. the park was also joined to a theme park / Playground. This is their site http://www.belaircamping.com/ Everything was great about the place except the weather. So this year the youngest is now 4 and a lot easier to travel with and for a further distance from the ferry. We are looking around Vendee (approx 4 hours) and want to know if anyone has any experience of the area. We have three kids 13, 5 and 4 to entertain so kids club will be ideal. Somewhere with a beach nearby for surfing would be a star find. We have had a look at kelair camping and keycamp but nothing is really jumping out at us like belair.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advice

    Derek

Hi there, have done the west coast for last 5 years in late June early July .Stayed with Siblu mostly and find them great for kids clubs with very good accom. Les Pierres Couchees in lower Brittany was really nice and around 4hrs from ferry, went further down last year to Les Charmettes which was a large site. Mostly Irish and English but plenty to do. Lots of pools and slides and there is bike hire
on site.Your only 5 mins drive from the beach as well. Even though we were near Bordeaux the weather is still hit and miss on that side of France. We re heading to south east this year where the weather is more guaranteed .

We have two kids and stayed with Siblu over the last few years and never had a problem with them. Last year we stayed in Bonne Anse Plage and we are going back again. Its about 5-6 hrs from Roscoff, I would deffo recommend this place. Loads to do, you can cycle to the zoo, beach only 10 min cycle also the town market only 10 mins also. Les charmettes is in the same area but its a lot farther out from the action. (still only 20 min cycle though). Bonne Anse Plage has also the better water sides:D Les charmettes on a whole might have the better facilities indoor hall for entertainment etc

Looking at the age profile of your kids, this place would be the place to go the

    ZOO
    Luna Park
    Numerous kids play parks.
    Quad bike hire
    Horse riding
    40-50km of paved cycle paths
    etc etc

Use this code FIDE13 before the end of this month and you should get a good discount (it said that we got nearly €1000 off). We got 21 nights in a top of the range wagon for the first 3 weeks of July for €2050

    Hi Guys,

Thanks a million for the info. Just booked Bonne Anse Plage with a €360 discount for 16 nights in the biggest wagon they have :D. Coming in at just ovet 1k. ferry is looking like 900€ but have about €500 tesco vouchers so should have a good near three week holiday for €1400. Looks like a great place. Have you been before? Where onsite would you recommend? Looking for a quiet site.

Have to say the area looks really nice too. Do you know is there any surfing in the area?

    Thanks again

Good stuff lad, we were there last year for three weeks (Bonne Anse Plage) and are going again this year. We got a great mobile home last year, it was an owners caravan and was located if you look at the site map towards towards the sea side (west) side of the campsite. If you went for the excellance, then you should be alright. They cant guarantee you a particular site but you can only ask.

Regarding the surfing see pics attached. These were taken in front of the light house which is about 15 mins away by bike on paved cycle paths.

Hi Guys, any Idea what would be a good site number for a quiet pitch on this site? Thanks

We got a very quiet site last year (I presume you are talking about Bonne Anse Plage) got lucky because they cannot guarantee any particular site. It was near the site boundary on the west side and was very good. You can request a site near the boundary or not a site near the compound as you will get people passing you all day long going to the pool etc.
