I have a few issues here so bear with me;) i am refering to pg in this
    1. 1850202050 supposed to be a lo cal number calls are 25c from a mobile phone, i assume 90% of farmers are calling from their mobile so are probably unaware of this cost
    2. Why 12 years after the foot and mouth outbreak do we still have to call out our herd number, seriously if i ring a chinese takeaway they have all my details stored from my phone number , surely pg could do something similar
    3. why can we not email or text in our calls to a central database
    4. most of the time i text the ai man himself -text is free- but if he isnt on i have to ring the call centre, i had mislaid my phone and decided to look up the ai number on the pg website , you would think this would be big and bold on the first page, after going on to 3 pages i still hadnt gotten the number, surely the number should be in bold print everywhere, ended up having to go outside and get the number off the ai book
how do other companies work? surely texting email is the way to go.

Your ai book sould be a thing of the past, surely a more customer based service even feature a text based service to remind you of cows who were served 18 to 20 days previous.

All of the above is the reason I now use DIY Ai, has saved a lot of hassle in the past couple of years

there are 4 different ai men in our area, 1 who is normally on , so if we cant contact him, we have to ring the call centre

We use one for Eurogene and he appears to always be on. There is another local lad too for Dovea but we've not used him. We used to use PG and they had 2, like your story, one was on 5 days and the other lad on 2 of every week.

i think its around 16 euro for first serve - not including price of straw. , not sure of repeat but cost of straw and service for a repeat was 12-15 euro

How much is the average price for friesians straws and what companies are represented in the northeast.
Found the last ai card we had it was 1993 going to be some change detecting them and remembering to ring the ai man.
What is the easiest method of heat detection other than fancy electronic methods?

I used tail paint up until last year .

Then a Dairy farmer near me told me of Heat Alert patches he uses .

Tried them last year and found them great ...
A plastic patch about 4 inches long that has glue on one side to stick to the back of the animal .
There is an ink cartridge inside it , so when the beast is mounted the cartridge is burst , and the patch surface turns colour , from white to red .

Bought 40 off Magenta for about 75Eur i think

Used those bloody yokes year before last on group of maiden heifers , first day there was one bulling she went mad jumping on the rest of the heifers and burst all the ink bubbles.
A good tail paint with the hair clipped before hand is as good as anything.
