Stanley Stove - Cracked Glass?

Just noticed my stove glass is badly cracked, its the second time this year :(

    - I'd be interested in hearing thoughts on the thickness and durability of this glass (ie. as supplied by Waterford Stanley) as the stock glass is quite thin and in my experience too delicate for day to day use without cracking in expensive little pieces.

What is it that would commonly crack your stove glass? Read elsewhere on here that slack is often blamed as it burns so hot?

    - Replacement glass is €78, makes sense to have it a little thin and fragile I suppose....... If this continues I'll sell the metal for scrap and buy Dimplex, have one of those too in another room and the glass is like plate glass in comparison....

You could be tightening the glass clips too tight.
The glass will expand slightly with heat so needs a tiny bit if space to do this.
In general, tighten it fully and then untighten half a turn.
