Golfsense

Beside one voucher for Nevada Bobs, I got nothing golf related for Christmas so as a present to myself, I bought Golfsense. Ordered on Christmas Day and received it last Friday. Anyone got on?

And knowing my luck, I hurt my back hitting a 7 iron out of the hay on St Stephens day so I havent had a chance to use it properly. I just had a few swings out the back, not hitting any ball though.

So what is it? Its basically a little gizmo that you connect onto your golf glove. Download the free app, connect via bluetooth to your phone (iPhone or Android), calibrate it first and then start swinging.

There are swings of a PGA pro preloaded into it and below are my swings in comparison to theirs.

The analysis is pretty good but the problem is that there is no where that tells you what is the optimum position, speed etc.
I would like to get peoples opinions of the analysis it provides or if they have Golfsense already, what do you think of it?

WOW, could be my gadget for next year.
Bet it looks even better on a tablet rather than a phone screen.

Off I go to investigate this more.

I have it on iPad too. Not sure why I choose to put iPhone photos.
Yeah looks good on iPad :)

how do they calculate clubhead speed if its on your hand?
If they are doing it based on wrist cock/uncock then the tiniest error in calibration is going to be pretty magnified I would have thought.

    Looks like interesting stuff though.

Funnily enough I did similar with the crappy Wii Golf.
There is a setting where you stand on the balance board and swing.
Pretty good for stopping you from over swinging and also weight transfers and keeping your weight on the balls of your feet....

There's a couple of these on the market. Other brands/versions connect to the shaft or the butt of the club.

I would imagine calibration is a big part of the Golfsense. You can calibrate it whenever you like so if you think it's off, you can recalibrate.
It can also sense when you've hit the golf ball so I imagine that's part of measuring clubhead speed. But overall I'm not technical enough to know how it works.

I still haven't hit a ball using it. Between work and the bad back, I haven't had the chance. Hopefully get a chance next week.
