Why won't my Laptop register fill BB speeds?

(Title should be register FULL broadband speeds, not fill, d'oh)

I have a Lenovo - G550, whenever I go wireless I'm only getting 22-25Mbps (my modem is a Cisco EPC3925), I assumed it was something to do with the wireless functionality of the modem as some people have complained about, put my other Toshiba laptop consistently gets between 45-48Mbps and that's when it's a good 20 feet away from it and I'm maybe 6-7 foot away with my Lenovo!

I know for certain that my laptop only as a 100Mbps LAN connection but I can't find out what it's WLAN connection is.

Is it possible that my laptop can only register 25Mbps via wireless? ... :pac:

Any help would be appreciated because it's a head wrecker.

(Just to add, when wired, I pick up around 49-51Mbps so that's all good)
